I have been having so much fun performing microneedling and seeing the beautiful results on my patients. Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a safe and effective treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and sun spots. Microneedling uses a machine to create thousands of microchannels in the skin at a specific depth that triggers your body to produce additional collagen and elastin, thus plumping up the skin as the serums are introduced deep into the channels to promote skin repair.
Microneedling alone has provided great results for many of my patients but I am excited to also offer microneedling with PRP. The addition of PRP boosts the overall efficacy of a microneedling treatment and here is why:
Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) uses platelets, found in your own blood, to promote healing and decrease duration of redness and swelling after microneedling.
The addition of PRP to treatments can help provide healing to:
-Acne scars
-Wrinkles and fine lines
-Uneven skin texture
-Sun damage
-Hyperpigmentation
-General scarring
PRP contains various proteins (growth factors) that help the skin tissue to repair itself and increases the overall effectiveness of microneedling. This treatment has shown great results for so many and has been found to be both safe and effective. The very famous “Vampire Facial” is microneedling with PRP plus some injections of PRP mixed with a dermal filler in the deeper lines. This is exactly what I am offering now but without the deeper injections. What this means is, you’ll get all of the beautiful skin texture improvement without the added chemical fillers.
Although a microneedling treatment is significantly less invasive than a surgery, threads or a laser peel, it is not without some discomfort. To minimize the discomfort, I am offering numbing cream and I will also include a few auricular (ear) acupuncture points to help manage any pain or discomfort you may experience during your treatments. Patients are reporting that these things are keeping the discomfort down to a minimal level.
